Indiana Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
The Indiana Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) is the Hoosier implementation of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP). The BCCP provides access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, diagnostic testing, and treatment for underserved and underinsured women who qualify for services.
Community HealthNet has been a part of the BCCP program since its inception in 1998. We have had the honor and privilege of serving thousands of uninsured or underinsured women over the last 22 years. BCCP is part of our health maintenance regimen that serves our patients who fit the following qualifications:
- Indiana resident
- Uninsured or underinsured
- Insured with unmet deductible
- 30 – 49 years of age (for office visit, clinical breast exam, and Pap smear)
- 50 – 64 years of age (for office visit, clinical breast exam, Pap smear, and mammogram)
- 65 years of age and older if not enrolled in Medicare Part B
- At or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (see income guidelines in table below)
Through the BCCP, female Indiana residents may qualify for free breast and cervical cancer screenings and diagnostic tests. Services provided include
- Colposcopies (with or without biopsies)
- Liquid-based cytology tests
- High risk panel HPV testing
- Office visits
- Pelvic exams/tests
- Clinical breast exams (CBEs)
- Mammograms (screening and diagnostic)
- Diagnostic breast ultrasounds
- Breast biopsies
- Consultations
Other services include the option 3 treatment program for women who have been diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer. This program allows women to apply for Indiana Medicaid (MA-12) and provides full healthcare coverage for eligible women. Once cancer treatment is completed, coverage through this program ends.
